PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

DRURY PLAZA HOTEL

REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT PLAN

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will meet and hold a public hearing on August 25, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183 for the purpose of hearing testimony for:

Drury Plaza Hotel Project Plan.

Applicant/Developer:

Jared Barbee/Mark Kohl,

Drury Development Corporation

Location:

501 South 10th Street

The redevelopment project plan proposes the new construction of an eight-story hotel with 210 rooms containing structured parking, meeting space, a fitness center, an indoor pool, and a third-party operated restaurant concept.

The Planning Board recommended denial of this Redevelopment Project Plan at the June 3, 2026 public hearing.

The Redevelopment Project Plan represents a request by the Drury Development Corporation for the City’s approval of the designation of the redevelopment site as an Enhanced Employment Area (EEA) and the imposition of a general business occupation tax. The applicant has requested $7,550,000.00 in occupation tax revenue to support the project. The City of Omaha EEA Committee recommended denial of the request for an EEA designation and imposition of a general business occupation tax. The City of Omaha TIF Committee also recommended denial of the request for tax increment financing in the amount of $4.9 million. Both committees determined the project failed to meet the provisions of the City’s Downtown Hotel Incentive Policy. The total estimated project costs are $54,300,000.00.

A copy of said plan is available for public inspection in the City Clerk’s Office.

Anyone interested in this matter should be in attendance.

Elizabeth Butler, CMC

City Clerk, City of Omaha

IF ALTERNATIVE FORMATS ARE NEEDED, REQUESTS WILL REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF 72 HOURS ADVANCE NOTICE.
