NDEQ, State Energy Office to Become DEE

Lincoln – Two state agencies, the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality and the Nebraska Energy Office, will merge into the Department of Environment and Energy (DEE) effective July 1, Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts announced Monday.

Lincoln – The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services is saving $7,000 a year at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center by replacing Syrofoam cups with plastic tumblers.

New Office Not Enough Space as Dvorak Law Group Growing

The Dvorak Law Group just cut the ribbon on its new West Dodge Road offices Tuesday evening, but it is already planning an expansion by the end of the year.

Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts joined Greater Omaha Chamber President and CEO David Brown and other dignitaries to celebrate the opening of the new law offices spanning the first floor of 9500 W. Dodge Road.

Immigration Trial Ends In ‘Jury Nullification’

A federal jury in Tucson deadlocked last week in a case in which a humanitarian was charged with transporting and harboring a Central American trying to get into the U.S.

The case was only one of a number of prosecutions in southern Arizona in recent months arising from entry on government land and aid to migrants.

Town Hall Meeting in Valley On Reporting Flood Damage

A town hall meeting will be held Saturday in Valley for area residents to learn how to report flood-damaged property.

Douglas County Assessor and Register of Deeds Diane Battiato will meet with residents from 9 to 11 a.m. on June 22 at the Valley flood relief center at 921 S. Mayne St., located at The Campus operated by United Faith Community Church.
