The Dvorak Law Group just cut the ribbon on its new West Dodge Road offices Tuesday evening, but it is already planning an expansion by the end of the year.

Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts joined Greater Omaha Chamber President and CEO David Brown and other dignitaries to celebrate the opening of the new law offices spanning the first floor of 9500 W. Dodge Road.

“Dvorak Law Group has quickly grown to be a trusted law firm and a valued member of the Nebraska legal community,” Ricketts said at the ribbon cutting. “Frankly, the way you all are growing, you’ll probably need to take over the whole city block here in the not-too-distant future.”

Ricketts also thanked the firm for its efforts to create jobs and support business in the state.

Brown said the new building should help the firm attract more employees and clients. He said that Omaha businesses look toward the future together.

“We do business with people that we trust,” Brown said at the event. “We have events like this to generate friendships and build a network so we have more people to do business with.”

Partner David M. Dvorak said any professional services group is built out of relationships, and the firm has built a network of relationships that spans the state, the nation and the world.

The firm focuses on a wide range of business law and works with clients in fields such as agriculture, construction, financial services, health care, manufacturing, private equity, real estate, technology and transportation.

“We are a business-based law firm,” Dvorak said.

Among the firm’s practice areas are banking and finance, business and corporate, estate and wealth planning, intellectual property, labor and employment, litigation and dispute resolution, mergers and acquisitions, securities and capital markets, and tax.

Dvorak Law has grown to more than 30 attorneys from an initial six attorneys. The firm was located at 137th Street and West Dodge Road, and there was no more vacancy there as it grew.

“It was kind of like ‘House Hunters,’” Dvorak said of the search for a new office space. “We took 24,000 square feet. We just finished in February this portion of it, and we’re going to start another 7,000 square foot build-out for phase two here before the end of the year.”

The firm also has an office in Hastings, allowing it to reach the rest of the state – and, from there, expands its reach internationally, through trade missions and other work for its clients.

“We are truly what I would call a Nebraska law firm,” Dvorak said. “It’s not just Omaha. Our headquarters are here, but we do business across the state.”
