Head Brewer and Owner, Dan Brouillette, opened Lumen Beer Company this past June and recently brewed his 31st beer. No two brews have been the same. The small taproom at 1433 S 13th Street in Little Bohemia specializes in a lot of beers with a lot of flavor. Style-wise, Lumen focuses on hazy, fruit forward IPAs and Sours.

Tucked away behind an unassuming gate in Little Bohemia, lies an impressive courtyard with a 30-year-old Wisteria, a Pagoda tree, pear tree, apple tree, four different types of vines, two different ivies, a beautiful Magnolia, and an array of different kinds of flowers and grasses; all along old brick paths that lead up to a main house and a guest house. And that’s during the current season where, with its freshly shorn foliage, the garden more closely resembles the one in “The Secret Garden” before springtime.

Like many others, Ashley and Nate Kloxin had big plans for 2020. By the time the pandemic hit, the couple already had the building lease and loan as franchisees at Perspire Sauna Studio’s first Omaha location. The Kloxins’ franchise of the infrared sauna business at 147th and Maple Streets opened in July of 2020 and has been a successful venture that the two hope to grow over time.

Margaret Haynes joined Right At Home in 2011 as the senior vice president of quality and standards, then moved into a role as the Chief Operating Officer in 2014. In 2022 she became Right At Home’s CEO. She is thankful to the CEO before her, Brian Protronick, for setting a solid foundation for the private duty home care business.
