In the early 2000’s, Shane Lundberg was tired of having to search so many different websites to find the content he was interested in, so he started a blog of his own where he could upload all of the content he wanted into one place. What he didn’t expect was the huge following it would gain, about 8 million views a week from around the world, and the discovery that he not only liked creating content but was good at it too.

“Next thing I know I was into people asking to purchase ads and wanted sponsored content on the website. A couple friends of mine who were business owners too needed some help, so I jumped in and started helping them with their content, socials, and advertising,” Lundberg said.

After selling the blog, Lundberg started Social Media Omaha to focus on creating content for more small businesses and help them create marketing strategies. Him and his team do this by being conscious of spending budgets and including the clients’ employees in capturing content in their workspaces through contests.

“The problem with marketing companies is that it’s pointed towards large budgets. There’s a lot of small to medium businesses that really need good marketing, and they don’t have those big budgets. I got tired of companies not being able to assist those people with good marketing.”

With a team of only thirteen employees consisting of web designers, photographers, videographers, and content managers, Social Media Omaha has found that they have to work as effectively as possible to serve their many clients. The best tool they have is their social media dashboard which allows clients and content managers to seamlessly integrate all of their clients’ social media accounts into one place where they can schedule content, see and interact with all social media engagements, and even pull analytics at any time.

Clients also love the approval feature which allows them to approve or decline any scheduled content that their content manager creates or leave comments to be able to easily communicate if they want something changed before it is posted.
