It’s been refreshing to feel the crisp air with the arrival of autumn. As the weather cools off and leaves begin to change color, it’s a great time to get outdoors. From hunting to hiking to hayrack rides, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty of Nebraska this fall.

If I’m supposed to feel safer, I don’t. If I’m supposed to break out in a freer and fairer dance, the music is silent. If I’m supposed to recognize an uptick in integrity, I missed it.
From the sky-is-falling department comes the latest installment of Nebraska’s decade-long attempt to change the state Constitution. This time to require voters to have a photo ID.

Imagine a world without money. With no way to buy stuff, you might need to produce everything you wear, eat, or use unless you could figure out how to swap some of the things you made for other items.
Just making a chicken sandwich would require spending months raising hens and growing your own lettuce and tomatoes. You’d need to collect your own seawater to make salt.

“I run a small contracting business. I have been hired as a subcontractor on a large construction project – a 40-story downtown office building.
I am told there are more than 70 different contractors who will be working on this project. My company will be responsible for only a small piece of it.

September – Opening Retreat
The two-day opening retreat absolutely flew by, and a part of me felt like I was a kid back at summer camp. There was the initial excitement and nervousness as the retreat began, and everyone started getting to know each other.

I often talk about the importance of investing in our core infrastructure. That’s things like our roads, bridges, railways, airports, drinking water systems, and ports.
But in today’s digital age, internet connectivity is just as integral to modern life as any other more “traditional” form of physical infrastructure.

Many real estate investors consistently use what I call a “grantor revocable title holding trust”, which is a more accurate term than “land trust”, to take and hold title to a piece of real estate they buy for investment purposes. Such trusts can be used whether the property is being held as a long-term rental or being bought as a buy, fix and resell or being resold as a quick flip. The most important component of such an arrangement is the capacity and integrity of your trustee.

I do not think I can overstate the importance of the setter position in volleyball. I also do not think we can overstate the importance of the relationship between the setter and the head coach in volleyball.
