Published by jason@omahadail... on Thu, 01/11/2024 - 4:00am

Would I be fast enough?

That’s the thought that ran circles in my head after the news of the school shooting at the Perry Middle and High School campus on Thursday.

A 17-year-old student shot and killed a sixth grader and shot and wounded the high school principal, two other staff members and four other students.

At The FBI We Rely On Our State And Local Partners Every Day

Published by jason@omahadail... on Fri, 01/05/2024 - 4:00am

If you walked through the squad areas of our FBI Omaha field office, you would see desks laden with computers, evidence reports, surveillance photographs, policy manuals, tactical gear and family photos. However, you might be hard-pressed to know if the desk belonged to an FBI agent, police officer, sheriff’s deputy or state trooper.

Who’s Afraid Of Fraud?  We All Should Be

Published by jason@omahadail... on Thu, 01/04/2024 - 10:58pm

I have a neighbor who over a year ago received a call from the FBI, seeking her assistance in targeting a group of individuals who were performing illegal wire transfers.  Over the year she had assisted with other tasks and had become a trusted ally of the FBI.  Then recently, the FBI asked her to increase her involvement after having gained the trust of the illegally operating group.   They told her they had set a trap to finally catch these guys and that they would keep her updated on their every move.  They thanked

On The Dementia Crisis In The US

The number of Americans over the age of 65 is rising quickly. In the past century, it has grown at nearly five times the rate of the rest of the population and is now approaching 60 million people. That includes about 15.5 million added since 2010. This is good news for the widening community of people who are enjoying happy, healthy golden years.

Has A Mass Exodus Begun?

Published by josie@omahadail... on Mon, 01/01/2024 - 5:00am

A recent census report is out, and it doesn’t look too good for the state. It appears that Nebraska may indeed not be for everyone after all. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the trend of more people leaving the state than coming into Nebraska is not only continuing but growing. Since 2010, the number of people with a bachelor’s degree or more leaving verses those with the same education levels entering the state has increased every year fostering the term “brain drain”.
