ORDINANCE NO. 44688
AN ORDINANCE to authorize payment to SkyWerx Aviation for aviation fuel for the Omaha Police Department Air Support Unit helicopters, for a period of up to ten years, involving the payment of money from appropriations of more than one (1) fiscal year in accordance with Sections 5.16 and 5.17 of the Omaha Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended; to provide for the payment to SkyWerx Aviation for the Blair Airport up to $200,000.00 a year, for an estimated total of $2,000,000.00; and to provide the effective date hereof.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on June 16, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:
An ordinance levying a special tax and assessment on certain lots, part of lots and pieces of real estate in the City of Omaha to cover the cost of clearing snow and ice from sidewalks in the District No. SWSR 2025-01.
An ordinance to transfer a permanent easement in land to Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha, for purposes of relocating facilities, and appurtenances thereto, upon City-owned property located near the Southeast corner of N 21st Street and Pratt Street; to authorize the Mayor to execute the Right-of-Way Easement.
An ordinance to authorize BMX Omaha to host the USA BMX National Event and to allow for overnight camping and parking at the BMX bicycle track at Hefflinger Park, from July 29, 2026 to August 2, 2026.
An ordinance to create a new Chapter of the Omaha Municipal Code, to govern the establishment, implementation, enforcement of a minimum wage for employees and employers, to prohibit retaliation, and provide for remedies for retaliation and employer wide investigations in the City of Omaha.
