NSBA House Of Delegates And Executive Council Welcome New Leadership
OMAHA – On October 14, 2022, Ken Hartman became Chair of the Nebraska State Bar Association House of Delegates and Yvonne Sosa and Pierce Fiala began their terms on the NSBA Executive Council.
Ken Hartman is a Partner with Baird Holm LLP in Omaha where he advocates on behalf of clients to help them resolve their oft-times difficult and complex commercial disputes. Ken has previously served as the Second District’s representative on the Nebraska State Bar Association’s Executive Council and on the Omaha Bar Association’s Executive Council. He is a member of various committees of the Nebraska State Bar Association including Practice and Procedure, Legislation, and Education. Ken currently serves as a Commissioner on the Nebraska Judicial Resources Commission. He is a Fellow with the Nebraska State Bar Foundation and the American Bar Foundation. Ken is member of the Robert M. Spire American Inn of Court including a proud long-time member of the Joe Chasen pupilage group. At the start of his legal career Ken had the honor of clerking for two judges who gave him the opportunity to serve each of them, this state, and the nation – the Honorable Kenneth C. Stephan and the Honorable Lyle E. Strom.
On October 14th, Erin Duggan Pemberton will begin her term on the NSBA Executive Council representing the first judicial district.
Ms. Duggan Pemberton is a managing partner at Wolfe Snowden law firm in Lincoln. Her practice areas include mostly insurance defense for medical malpractice and personal injury, and defense of healthcare licensees in state investigations and disciplinary matters. She is active in the NSBA as a member of the Health Law Section and served as the first chair when the section was started in 2015 until 2017. She is a Lifetime Fellow of the NSBA Foundation, a graduate of the 2013 NSBA Leadership Academy, and Law Day presenter. She has volunteered at the UNL College of Law for a variety of activities such as moot court, client counseling, and others. She is a member of the Robert Van Pelt Inns of Court and former president. She is a 2001 cum laude graduate of State University of New York at Buffalo College of Law, where she was the executive editor for the SUNY Buffalo Criminal Law Review, served as the SBA class representative and received the Faculty Choice Award for outstanding leadership. She worked as an assistant district attorney in New York State before starting at Wolfe Snowden in 2007. Prior to her legal career, she had a long career in healthcare and holds a master of science degree in nursing. She is a frequent presenter to both healthcare professionals and legal professionals. Ms. Pemberton is a member of the board of trustees at Bryan Health Medical Center and at First-Plymouth Church.
On October 14th, Dayna Goff will begin her term on the NSBA Executive Council representing the Young Lawyers Section.
Dayna L. Goff works at the University of Nebraska's Center for Children, Family and the Law and maintains a private juvenile law practice in Lincoln. She is also a Parenting Act and S.A.D.R. trained mediator associated with The Mediation Center. She has a Bachelor's and Master's in Social Worker and practiced as a social worker in child welfare prior to law school. She is currently a member of the Robert Van Pelt Inns of Court, mentors law students at the Nebraska College of Law, is serving on this year's NSBA Barrister's Ball Committee and is an active member in the Young Lawyers Section. In her free time, Dayna enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
