Americans Should Keep Their Full Social Security Check

Published by Nikki Palmer on Tue, 09/26/2023 - 2:00am

Since its creation in 1935, Social Security has been the backbone of most Americans’ retirement plans. For decades, workers paid into Social Security via the payroll tax each pay period. According to the Social Security Administration, nearly nine out of ten people aged 65 and older received a Social Security benefit as of June 30 of this year.

Celebrating Our New Nebraska Record

Published by Nikki Palmer on Mon, 09/25/2023 - 2:00am

At the end of last month, Nebraska made history. Thousands of people streamed into Lincoln’s Memorial Stadium, full of excitement and anticipation. Husker, Maverick, Loper, and Wildcat fans cheered as the teams emerged. Eventually, the loudspeaker carried an announcement across the stadium: Nebraska had just broken a world record. As we often say, there is no place like Nebraska.

On Federally Reclassifying Marijuana

Published by Nikki Palmer on Fri, 09/22/2023 - 2:00am

The Department of Health and Human Services has recommended removing cannabis from the federal government’s list of drugs that have “no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.” Known as Schedule I, this group includes substances such as heroin and LSD, bad company in which cannabis, whose recreational and medicinal use is being legalized or decriminalized by many states, no longer belongs — if it ever did.

Reserves Are Important

Published by Nikki Palmer on Thu, 09/21/2023 - 2:00am

None of us knows what life will bring. All of a sudden, your ability to generate income may be severely restricted by an illness or injury. In the past few months, my office has worked with several individuals in the real estate investing arena who found themselves in that situation. Published by Nikki Palmer on Mon, 09/18/2023 - 2:00am

The 2024 election is promising to be one for the ages, and an underplayed story so far is how the left wing of the Democratic Party has so easily fallen in behind President Biden. Far from challenging Mr. Biden, Bernie Sanders has emerged as one of the President’s most vociferous supporters.

Getting Answers For Our POW/MIA Families

Published by Nikki Palmer on Fri, 09/15/2023 - 2:00am

Over a half a century ago, President John F. Kennedy once said, “A nation reveals itself not only by the men it produces but also by the men it honors, the men it remembers.” National POW/MIA Recognition Day on September 15 is an opportunity to honor and remember the women and men who may be missing but must never be forgotten.
