Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Omaha met on September 28, 2021 and passed and approved the following ordinances:
ORDINANCE NO. 42680
AN ORDINANCE to amend the boundaries of the MCC-Major Commercial Corridor Overlay District for the property located at 637 and 639 North Saddle Creek Road; and to provide for an effective date.
Summary: In accordance with Sections 55-681 through 55-688 and 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, the official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended so that: Lots 1 and 2, Canfield Place Replat 1, as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska, is hereby rezoned to be included in and incorporated into the MCC-Major Commercial Corridor Overlay District; provided, that the base zoning district for such property shall not be changed by this ordinance.

AN ORDINANCE to approve the acceptance of the City of Omaha and Douglas County joint application to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), FY 2021 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program, Application #A-389089, in the amount of four hundred nine thousand, eight hundred and thirty-nine dollars ($409,839) for law enforcement programs, prevention and education programs, prosecution and court programs, corrections and community corrections programs, and planning, evaluation and technology improvement programs during the period of October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2024; to provide the Council an opportunity for review and public comment for such application; and upon award of such grant to authorize payment from such grant funding and involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter; and, to provide for the effective date hereof.

AN ORDINANCE to accept the bid of Nebraska’s Best Lawn & Landscape, LLC in the annual amount of $36,000.00, involving appropriations of more than one year as provided in Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter, of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended; for the provision of snow removal at Police facilities for a period of three years; with two additional one-year options held by the City at the same price, to authorize the Finance Department to make payments from a specified account to Nebraska’s Best Lawn & Landscape, LLC for the cost of snow removal in accordance with the specifications; and to provide an effective date.

AN ORDINANCE authorizing the approval of the Agreement between the City of Omaha, Nebraska, on behalf of the Omaha Police Department and the Metro Drug Task Force, and Connie A. Garro to provide intelligence analyst services for the Metro Drug Task Force, for a term of one year from November 1, 2021 to October 31, 2022, and may be extended for two additional one-year terms upon mutual consent of the parties; that in consideration, the City shall pay Connie A. Garro an amount not to exceed $50,000.00 per year, $4,166.67 per month; $8,332.74 for 2021 (2 months) and $41,666.70 for 2022 (10 months); and to provide an effective date.

AN ORDINANCE to approve the acceptance of and authorize disbursement over more than one fiscal year Grant Agreement #197-2022-VP8004 from the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (Nebraska Crime Commission) in the amount of forty thousand dollars ($40,000), during the project period extending from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022 to fund the Omaha Police Department (OPD) Gang Unit Firearms DNA Testing Program to provide funding for the OPD to review and analyze DNA evidence in as many as 64 firearms cases; to authorize payment from such grant funding and involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter; and, providing for the effective date hereof.
