Ralston City Council Regular Meeting
Minutes - Tuesday, October 5, 2021
The complete minutes are on file in the office of the City Clerk and are available for public inspection during regular business hours or on the City’s website at www.cityofralston.com.
The Ralston City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 5:30 PM at Ralston City Hall. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll was called with the following present: Mayor Groesser and Council members Brousek, Fideline, Kavanaugh, Krause, Sanchez, and Preis. The agenda was available at City Hall for public inspection and posted prior to the meeting. The legal notice for the meeting was published in the Omaha Daily Record. Claims listed are approved and part of these minutes.
Pastor Tessa Zehring, Trinity United Methodist Church, gave the invocation. Mayor Groesser welcomed the press and guests. Groesser said the meeting is subject to the Nebraska Open Meetings Act. A copy of the Act is posted at the rear of the Council Chambers and is available to view on the City’s website at www.cityofralston.com.
Reviewed the following items under the consent agenda: (1) Minutes from the September 21, 2021 regular city council meeting; (2) Claims; and (3) Department Head and/or Commission Reports. Moved and seconded to approve the Consent Agenda. Aye: Brousek, Fideline, Kavanaugh, Krause, Sanchez, and Preis. Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
Hoppe complimented Freshman for all the assistance with abating issues at an apartment complex.
Pat Eccles, Assistant Fire Chief, reported on the open house and pancake feed. Hoppe reported on 72nd and Q Street.
Groesser read a proclamation for Veterinary Technician Week in the City of Ralston.
Moved and seconded to approve the Capital Improvements Plan. Aye: Brousek, Fideline, Kavanaugh, Krause, Sanchez, and Preis. Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
Moved and seconded to accept the proposal from Feld Fire for the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus for the Ralston Fire Department. Aye: Brousek, Fideline, Kavanaugh, Krause, Sanchez, and Preis. Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
Public comment: There was no public comment.
Council comment: Fideline reminded about the Fire Department and Honor Guard service at Koch Park on Saturday at 11:00 AM. This service is for the firemen that have passed away in the past two years. Kavanaugh gave kudos to the Fire Department on the pancake feed. Krause commented on a recent Keno jackpot win.
The meeting adjourned at 5:58 PM.
The next regular meeting is Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 5:00 PM.
