Lincoln – A drive-thru clinic has opened in Lincoln where one person in each vehicle can be tested for influenza, respiratory illnesses and COVID-19.

Ricketts: Those Coming From Risky Areas Should Isolate

Lincoln – Gov. Pete Ricketts urged Nebraska residents Tuesday to quarantine themselves for at least two weeks if they’ve recently traveled anyplace that has seen a big outbreak of the new coronavirus, including major U.S. cities.

Lincoln – For many Nebraskans, COVID-19 will be like a cold. But for some of our parents and grandparents, it could be very severe, and could result in death.

Recent data shows that the virus is also affecting younger people. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report said 20% of those hospitalized for COVID-19 in the U.S. were 20-44 years old.

Nebraska Extends Tax Deadline to July 15

Nebraska will follow the national example and move its income tax filing deadline.

The deadline will shift from April 15 to July 15, Gov. Pete Ricketts announced Monday in his daily update on the state's response to COVID-19.

Iowa Governor: Shelter Orders Not Needed

Des Moines, Iowa – Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds said Monday that more aggressive orders to halt the movement of Iowans are not needed even though the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise.

Nineteen More Nebraska COVID-19 Cases Reported Monday

Lincoln – Nineteen more COVID-19 cases have been reported in five Nebraska counties, bring the state total to 61, a state agency said.

The new cases include a man and woman in their 60s who live in Washington County and who recently traveled. The two are in isolation at home, the Nebraska Health and Human Services Department said in a news release Monday night.
