Eleven More Counties Subject to DHHS Directed Health Measures

Several counties in central Nebraska are included under directed health measures after community transmission of the coronavirus resulted in a death last Friday.

The new health order went into effect at 6 a.m. Saturday in Hall, Hamilton, Merrick, York, Seward, Butler and Polk counties.

Douglas County Health Center Discovers Two COVID-19 Cases

The Douglas County Health Center reported cases of COVID-19 last Sunday afternoon.

Two long-term residents of the county facility tested positive for the coronavirus, a county news release stated. They are being monitored in isolation in private rooms.

State Insurance Department OKs Relaxed Requirements

Lincoln – Bruce R. Ramge, director of the Nebraska Department of Insurance, responded in an open letter to questions from some insurers related to COVID-19.

Executive Order Expediting Entry to Medical Profession

Lincoln – Gov. Pete Ricketts issued an executive order last Friday to expedite the entry of medical professionals into the workforce. 

Nebraska currently has ample providers to meet the demand for care. The purpose of the order is to prepare for the possibility of a surge in COVID-19 cases or the unavailability of some medical professionals due to quarantine restrictions.

Lincoln – The state Department of Environment and Energy’s Wastewater Division would like to remind people that sanitizing wipes, baby wipes and even “flushable” wipes are not flushable – regardless of what the product states.

PSC Announces $1 Million to Provide Services Due to Virus

Lincoln – The Nebraska Public Service Commission has entered Order NUSF-92 to allow carriers to seek reimbursement for providing service to low-income families as a part of the response to the COVID-19 emergency.

Unclaimed Property Remains Claimable by Mail, Website

Lincoln – Due to the COVID-19 crisis, offices of the Unclaimed Property Division of the Nebraska State Treasurer’s Office ae\re closed to the public.

Treasurer’s Office staff are available by phone at 402-471-8497 or 877-572-9688 and will continue to process claims mailed into the Lincoln office or filed online.
