Pilot Program Offers to Assist Coronavirus First Responders

Lincoln – The Department of Health and Human Services is rolling out a pilot program to assist the first responders such as health care workers, emergency medical service, law enforcement and corrections officers deal with potential exposure to COVID-19. The concern of these workers after finishing their shift is whether they could potentially expose loved ones to the virus unintentionally because of the daily requirements of the job.

Papio NRD Keeps Some Rec Areas Open, at Least for Now

Officials with the Papio-Missouri Natural Resources District have decided to keep open the lakes, trails and parking lots at Prairie View and Chalco Hills recreation areas.

Playgrounds, athletic fields and restrooms at the Papio NRD recreational areas are closed.

Unicameral Youth Legislature Cancels Its June 2020 Session

Lincoln – The 2020 Unicameral Youth Legislature is canceled.

Program director Ami Johnson said the rapidly evolving public health emergency made it impossible to continue with the legislative simulation for high school students, which was scheduled for June 7-10.
