The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Omaha Field Office will hold a Diversity Agent Recruitment event later this month.

Invited participants will have an opportunity to explore careers as a special agent or in one of its professional staff positions.

“This targeted approach to recruiting gives applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds the opportunity to see themselves as part of the FBI family,” according to FBI recruiting materials.

The DAR event is seeking interested female applicants and applicants with diverse ethnic and racial heritages as part of the agency’s ongoing initiative to reach applicants with a variety of backgrounds.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens. They should be between ages 23 and 36 and possess at least a bachelor’s degree and have professional work experience.

“The FBI can more effectively carry out its mission to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution when our workforce reflects the communities we serve,” said John Barrios, acting agent in charge of the Omaha Field Office in a news release.

To register for the DAR event, go to fbijobs.gov and click on “Apply to Jobs,” then search for “DAR” and select “DAR Omaha Talent Network.” After completing the questionnaire, candidates will receive an invitation to the event with specific details.

The DAR event is scheduled to run 5 to 8 p.m. July 23.
