NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON

APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL RESOURCES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on May 28, 2024, Davis Contracting, LLC will hold a public hearing concerning an application to the Nebraska Department of Economic Development for a Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) award. This funding is available to eligible entities to rebuild the affected areas impacted by DR-4420 and provide crucial seed money to start the recovery process, for local affordable housing activities.

Davis Contracting, LLC is requesting 1.8 million for Sherwood & Pyrunes Community housing development that will return displaced middle-income home lessors to the community. The project will consist of six duplexes (3 beds, 2.5 baths), with the future construction of two additional single-family homes on the same block within 2025. The new multi-unit homes will significantly increase the appeal for mixed-income lessors and homebuyers in the improved area. The development location is in Douglas County; within a designated HUBZone, QCT, & CRA area. The timeline for the development will be eight months; this estimate considers potential delays due to weather or material procurement issues; the estimated completion date with the project starting in July 2024 will be March 2025.

The grant application will be available for public inspection online at www.daviscontractingllc.org. All interested parties are invited to attend this public hearing at which time you will have an opportunity to be heard regarding the grant application. Written and oral testimony will also be accepted at the public hearing scheduled for 6 PM., May 28, 2024, 2611 Florence Blvd., Omaha, NE 68110. Written comments addressed to Nadra L. Davis at nldavis@daviscontractingllc.org will be accepted if received on or before 5.29.2024.
