Outreach Efforts Go Beyond English
Lincoln – Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts is calling for more messaging to non-English speakers on the COVID-19 pandemic.
CHI St. Francis is advertising on radio and billboards in Spanish, Ricketts said at a news conference at the state Capitol last Wednesday.
“Communities are working hard to spread the word about COVID-19 to non-English speakers,” Ricketts said.
News Channel Nebraska and Telemundo have set up a Spanish-language news bureau in Grand Island, he said. JBS and the Grand Island Public Schools have made communication with non-English speakers a priority as well.
