Organizations
The Nebraska State Bar Association (NSBA) works for Nebraska lawyers to help them achieve the highest standards of competence, ethics and professionalism and to protect and promote the administration of and access to justice. The NSBA no longer collects the Nebraska Supreme Court's mandatory assessment and is a voluntary association.
The Omaha Bar Association (OBA) promotes the administration of justice and upholds the honor and integrity of the profession of law in Omaha. Its purpose is to increase the usefulness, activity, professionalism and influence of the bar and the legal profession. The OBA was founded as the Douglas County Bar Association in 1875.
Also serving Omaha's legal community, The Daily Record is a proud sponsor of the Omaha Barristers Club.
The Lincoln Bar Association (LBA) is a nonprofit corporation organized for educational and chariable purposes for lawyers located in Lincoln and Lancaster County, Nebraska.
The Nebraska Lawyers Foundation (NLF) is the nonprofit arm of the Nebraska State Bar Association. Its mission is to serve the public and the legal profession by securing contributions to support programs dedicated to the improvement of the legal profession and the administration of justice. The foundation supports the Nebraska Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP), Nebraska Lawyers Assistance Program and other initiatives.
The Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys (NATA) is dedicated to the improvement of the trial practice and preservation of the jury system. It provides advocacy-related services to members and sponsoring, supporting or opposing legislation as needed to protect rights of citizens to recover for wrongs inflicted upon them and maintaining the integrity of the legal system.
The Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorneys Association (NCDAA) serve the needs of criminal defense attorneys throughout Nebraska by conducting numerous seminars, publishing a newsletter and maintaining a brief bank.
The Nebraska County Attorneys Association (NCAA) advocates for public policies that assists county attorneys’ ability to strengthen community safety and effectively prosecute.
The Nebraska Association of Legal Administrators (ALA Nebraska) represents professionals who manage law firms, legal departments and government agencies.
The Nebraska Paralegal Association (NePA) is a welcoming community of professionals dedicated to serving its members and strengthening the paralegal profession for future generations.
The Nebraska Legal Professionals Association (NLPA) represents individuals employed or interested in all work areas of a legal nature – including receptionists, researchers, secretaries and researchers – as well as students pursuing degrees in legal studies. In addition to at-large members, it sponsors the Omaha Legal Professionals Association (OPLA) and the Lincoln Legal Professionals Association (LLPA).
