Nebraska Supreme Court Has Oral Arguments by Telephone
The Nebraska Supreme Court is using teleconferencing for its April oral arguments to promote to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.
The sessions will be broadcast by Nebraska Educational Television, with Chief Justice Michael G. Heavican in the courtroom.
The other justices, as well as the attorneys, will participate by telephone. Audio will be made available by NET.
Counsel have waived oral arguments for some cases, and those will be submitted to the court without oral argument.
“The Nebraska Supreme Court is committed to providing continual access to the courts,” the Nebraska Judicial Branch said in a news release Monday afternoon. “Through the use of technology, courts are able to remain open and available to the public so that no person is deprived of his or her constitutional rights.”
