Nebraska State Bar Annual Meeting Continues Today

The Nebraska State Bar Association’s Annual Meeting continues today and concludes Friday at the La Vista Conference Center.

This evening is OctoBARfest featuring cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music and trivia from 5:15 to 9 p.m. Everyone is invited.

The Nebraska Community Blood Bank will also be receiving donations at its bus parked outside the Embassy Suites from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. as part of the President Public Service Project. Sign up for a 30-45 minute donation time at ncbbherohub.club.

Today’s agenda includes a variety of NSBA section meetings:

• Agricultural Law (9:30 a.m.)

• Bank Attorneys (7 a.m., breakfast)

• Business Law (2 p.m.)

• Immigration Law (3:15 p.m.)

• Military and Veterans Law (8:30 a.m.)

• Natural Resources & Environmental Law (2 p.m.)

In addition, the NSBA House of Delegates meets from 9 a.m. to noon, with orientation for new members starting at 8 a.m.

Today’s CLE schedule is:

• Bank Attorneys Section Seminar: Legislative Update, LIBOR Replacement, and Lending Issues (8 to 9 a.m.)

• NSBA Tech Topic: Personal Information Compliance: What That Means for Your Law Firm and Clients (8 to 9 a.m.)

• Midwest Innocence Project Seminar: Innocence In Practice (8 to 9:30 a.m.)

• Military & Veterans Law Section Seminar: Communication Tips for Veteran/Military Clients Impacted by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Other Service-Related Disabilities (8 to 9:30 a.m.)

• 2021 Legislative Update (9 to 10 a.m.)

• NLAP Ethics Program: Exploring Effective Treatment of Drug and Alcohol Disorders within the Legal Profession (10 a.m. to noon)

• Technology Lunch: Hot Technology Tips for Lawyers (noon to 1 p.m.)

• Business Law and Corporate Counsel Sections Seminar: The Corporate Transparency Act – It’s Coming! What Do You Need to Know? (1 to 2 p.m.)

• Natural Resources and Environmental Law and Agricultural Law Sections Seminar: Developments in New Sources of Alternative/Renewable Energy (1 to 2 p.m.)

• Midlands Bar Association Seminar: Ending American Racial-Ethnic Discrimination: Alternative Structural Perspectives and Legal Implications. The Road to Damascus? (1 to 3 p.m.)

• Immigration Law and Juvenile Law Sections Seminar: Special Immigrant Juvenile Status-Assisting Nebraska’s Undocumented Youth (2:15 to 3:15 p.m.)

• Law Practice Management Section Seminar: Protecting Client Data While Working Remotely: Can It Be Done? (2:15 to 3:15 p.m.)

• General Session: The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote (3:45 to 5:15 p.m.)
