PUBLIC NOTICE
The monthly meeting of the Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA) Regional Planning Affiliation (RPA) 18 Policy and Technical Committee is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., June 9, 2021 at the MAPA offices, 2222 Cuming St., Omaha, Nebraska.
Copies of the agenda for the RPA-18 Policy and Technical Committee meeting will be available June 2, 2021. Electronic copies of the agenda will be available at http://mapacog.org. Printed copies of the agenda will be available at MAPA offices.
Meetings of the Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency are conducted in compliance with the Nebraska and Iowa Statutes of the Open Meetings Act. Auxiliary aids, language assistance and services are available when requested at least three business days in advance.

The Draft FY2022-FY2027 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) of the Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency is available for public comment from May 27 to June 23, 2021.
The TIP is a six-year document, updated annually, which documents the progress toward projects that include federal transportation funding. It includes projects such as highway maintenance and expansion, bicycle and pedestrian trail work, Metro Transit projects and aviation projects. The Draft TIP also includes updates to projects in the Omaha-Council Bluffs region led by the Nebraska Department of Transportation and the Iowa Department of Transportation during the next four years.
Projects receiving Surface Transportation Block Grant funding under the Heartland 2050 mini-grant program include:
• City of Omaha Bike-Pedestrian Master Plan ($200,000) – plan to establish bike and sidewalk networks for safer, integrated bike and pedestrian routes.
• City of Bellevue Fort Crook Road Corridor Study ($100,000) – study to evaluate transportation system needs and land use options for Fort Crook Road.
Projects receiving Transportation Alternatives Program funding include:
• Carter Lake Trail Connection ($320,000) - 1.7 miles of multi-use trails connecting Carter Lake to existing trails at Kiwanis Park.
Organizations receiving 5310 funding (for transportation needs of older adults and people with disabilities) include:
• Region V Services Gretna/Bellevue ($72,000) – for a replacement vehicle
• Intercultural Senior Center, Omaha ($75,000) – for an operations contract
• New Cassel Retirement Center, Omaha ($303,600) - for a new vehicle and operations contract
• Council Bluffs Special Transit Services ($147,200) – for a replacement vehicle and operations contract
The TIP public comment period runs from May 27 to June 23, 2021. View the Draft FY2022-FY2027 TIP at mapacog.org/projects/tip/. The public is invited to attend a TIP open house Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 4-5 p.m. at MAPA offices.
