Forsberg Appointed to County Bench

Attorney Grant A. Forsberg of Omaha will join the bench of the Douglas County Court.
Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts announced his appointment of Forsberg to the County Court of the Fourth Judicial District on Thursday.
Forsberg, 52, is an attorney in private practice at Forsberg Law PC LLO, where he specializes in corporate and business law, real estate law and litigation, including personal injury, workers’ compensation and family law.
Forsberg is also the co-owner of real estate company GranWest LLC and event productions company GranStan LLC, according to his law office’s website.
Prior to going into the law, he spent 11 years in a business career with Union Pacific Railroad, where he held roles in finance, sales, marketing and logistics.
Forsberg holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated from the Creighton University School of Law in December 2002. He was an associate at Dwyer Smith Gardner Lazer Pohren Rogers & Forrest LLP (now merged into Smith Garder and Slusky LLP) prior to starting Forsberg & Jolly Law PC LLO in 2008, which became Forsberg Law in 2010.
Forsberg is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association, Omaha Bar Association and Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys.
He received a 2015 Alfred G. Ellick Referral Service Award and a 2013 Martindale Hubbard Client Distinction Award.
Ricketts selected Forsberg from among four candidates who were advanced by the Judicial Nomination Commission for the Fourth Judicial District County Court.
The other candidates were Todd O. Engleman of Omaha, Beau G. Finley of Omaha and Steven J. Towhig of Elkhorn.
The vacancy was created by the retirement of Judge Lawrence E. Barrett in January.
