Forbes Lists Nebraska's Best 2021 Employers
Forbes Magazine has announced the best employers in Nebraska for 2021 based on a survey of 80,000 U.S. employers across 25 industry sectors.
The survey considered every aspect of an employee’s experience such as working conditions, salary, the potential for growth, and diversity, according to a news release from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, which made the list for the third time in a row.
Of the thousands of companies eligible for this recognition, only a select few are awarded in each state, the release stated.
Boys Town National Research Hospital was named the No. 1 best employer in the state, followed by TD Ameritrade Holding at No. 2.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska was ranked No 3, while Kiewit was at No. 4 and Lincoln Public Schools finished at No. 5.
Rounding out the state’s top 15 in order are the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Nebraska Medicine, U.S. Department of Defense, University of Nebraska at Omaha, PayPal, Mutual of Omaha, Ameritas, Target, Creighton University and the State of Nebraska. The rest of the top 25 in order are Bryan Health, Bank of the West, First National Bank of Omaha, CommonSpirit Health, Nelnet, G4S, Kawasaki, Interpublic Group, Hy-Vee and Walgreens.
“I have been truly impressed and amazed by the hardworking, innovative culture of the faculty and staff who make UNO such an incredible place for our students,” UNO Chancellor Joanne Li said.
