The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has opened a new facility in North Omaha to better serve resi­dents of the area.

The office opened this month and houses Division of Children and Family Services protection and economic assistance operations and Medicaid and Long-Term Care teammates.

“Governor Rickett’s goals in­clude developing a more efficient and effective state government and providing customer-focused servic­es for Nebraskans,” said Matthew Wallen, director of children and family services. “Adding an office in the North Omaha area meets both of those goals.”

Among the services available to the public at the new office are application processing for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, aka food stamps, and oth­er economic assistance programs.

The office is located at 5319 N 30th St. in Omaha.
