Engineering Services
for
Northeast Omaha High Rate Treatment
Basin and Associated Projects
The City of Omaha (City) is seeking consultant services to develop design plans to sequence and build a 185 million gallons per day (MGD) Northeast Omaha (NEO) High Rate Treatment Basin (HRTB) and additionally to design a number of associated projects to ensure that the HRTB is able to maximize its treatment of combined sewer overflow (CSO) volumes. The primary objectives for the collection of projects are as follows:
Improve the performance of the watershed that feeds the NEO HRTB by implementing measures that may include active controls to maximize the use of the collection system.
Advance the City’s CSO Program closer to our regulatory requirement of achieving an 85% capture of the overall volume which will help achieve water quality goals for the Missouri River.
Accomplish these objectives while balancing cost and operational reliability.
This Request for Proposals is focusing on three of the remaining CSO points located within close proximity to each other (CSO 106, 107, and 108). The components identified in the 2021 Long Term Control Plan Update that will make up the HRTB system are the Northeast Omaha HRTB – (6th Street and Abbott Drive) including a diversion structure, grit/screening facility, wet well, 185 MGD pump station, and an outfall structure; 11th and Izard Active Control; 11th and Izard Grit and Screening Facility; North Downtown Conveyance Sewer (11th and Izard to 6th and Abbott); and Rehabilitation of the Grace Street and North Interceptor Dry Weather Flow Diversion Structures.
Interested firms may request a detailed scope of work by emailing their requests to ae.selection@cityofomaha.org or by writing to the Public Works Department, Attention: Sylvia, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, NE 68183 prior to July 12, 2023.
