PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on June 30, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:
An ordinance to amend Sections 55-686, 55-921, 55-924, 55-927, 55-928, 55-930, 55-931, and 55-932 of the Omaha Municipal Code regarding the Urban Design code.
An ordinance to establish, pursuant to Section 40-251 of the Omaha Municipal Code, a Class “B” Flammable Liquids Storage District to be known as District No. B-231 at 8425 North 114th Street, Lot 4 as requested by Westwood Solutions LLC.
An ordinance to establish, pursuant to Section 40-251 of the Omaha Municipal Code, a Class “B” Flammable Liquids Storage District to be known as District No. B-232 at 8425 North 114th Street, Lot 5 as requested by Westwood Solutions LLC.
An ordinance to establish, pursuant to Section 40-251 of the Omaha Municipal Code, a Class “B” Flammable Liquids Storage District to be known as District No. B-233 at 8425 North 114th Street, Lot 6 as requested by Westwood Solutions LLC.
An ordinance to approve an Agreement between the City of Omaha and FireCatt for annual fire hose testing services for the Omaha Fire Department for a five (5) year term covering annual testing years 2027 through 2031, at an estimated total Agreement cost of $181,900.00; FireCatt is acknowledged as a sole source vendor due to its patented computerized testing technology and proprietary hose testing systems; funding shall be provided from Omaha Fire Department Fund 11111, Organization 114561, Account 42411; the Finance Department is authorized to make payments in accordance with the Agreement; and the Mayor of the City of Omaha is authorized to execute any further documents that may be necessary to implement this Agreement.

ORDINANCE NO. 44703
AN ORDINANCE approving Special Agreement for Maintenance of a Primary Road between the City of Omaha and the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) involving the payment of money from appropriations of more than one year in accordance with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter of 1956, as amended; to provide for the terms and conditions under which Omaha and Iowa DOT will participate in the maintenance of the section of Abbott Drive immediately adjacent to the City of Omaha; to authorize the Finance Department to accept reimbursement for the specified maintenance activities according to the disbursement terms contained within the Agreement; and to provide an effective date hereof.

AN ORDINANCE approving a redevelopment and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Redevelopment Agreement between the City of Omaha and APR Building, LLC, a Nebraska limited liability company, to implement the Douglas Street Office Project Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Redevelopment Project Plan for a redevelopment project site located at 2311 Douglas Street, which proposes the comprehensive rehabilitation of a vacant building to be occupied by a law office and to create up to two additional commercial tenant spaces in the basement; the agreement authorizes the use of up to $95,270.00, which includes capitalized interest, in excess ad valorem taxes (TIF) generated by the development to help fund the cost of the project, and providing for an effective date.

AN ORDINANCE to approve the City of Omaha and Douglas County joint application to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), FY 2025 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program application, in the amount of four hundred thirty-eight thousand, nine hundred thirteen dollars ($438,913) for law enforcement programs, crime prevention and education programs, prosecution and court programs, corrections and community corrections programs, mental health programs and crisis intervention teams, and planning, evaluation and technology improvement programs during the period of October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2028; to provide the Council an opportunity for review and public comment for such application.
