Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Omaha met on May 21, 2024 and passed and approved the following ordinances:
ORDINANCE NO. 43848
AN ORDINANCE to amend the official zoning map of the City of Omaha adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code, by changing certain boundaries of the official zoning map of the City of Omaha in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, to rezone property located southeast of 114th and State Streets from DR-Development Reserve District to R4-Single-Family Residential District (High-Density).
Summary: The official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code so that: Lots 1-146 and Outlot A, DEER CREST NORTH, a subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska, are hereby rezoned from DR-Development Reserve District to R4-Single-Family Residential District (High-Density).

ORDINANCE NO. 43845
AN ORDINANCE to amend the boundaries of the MCC-Major Commercial Corridor Overlay District, to incorporate into that district the property located northeast of 66th Street and Ames Avenue; and to provide for an effective date.
Summary: In accordance with Sections 55-681 through 55-688 and 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, the official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended so that: Lot 1, Bensonvale Acres Replat 10, a subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska is hereby rezoned to be included in and incorporated into the MCC-Major Commercial Corridor Overlay District; provided, that the base zoning district for such property shall not be changed by this ordinance.

AN ORDINANCE approving a redevelopment and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Redevelopment Agreement between the City of Omaha and 1904FARNAMOWNER,LLC, a Nebraska limited liability company, to implement the 1904 Farnam Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Redevelopment Project Plan for a redevelopment project site located at 1904 Farnam Street, which proposes the comprehensive rehabilitation of a historic ?-story building into 54 affordable apartment units and about 5,965 square feet of retail/commercial space; the agreement authorizes the use of up to $418,298.00, which includes capitalized interest, in excess ad valorem taxes (TIF) generated by the development to help fund the cost of the project, and providing for an effective date.

AN ORDINANCE to approve the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Omaha and the Professional Firefighters Association of Omaha, Local No. 385; AFL-CIO-CLC for the payroll years for 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027; to provide that any ordinances of the City of Omaha, and any rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, which are in conflict with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement shall not be applicable to those employees in the bargaining unit described in Article 1, Section 1, of said Collective Bargaining Agreement; and to provide the effective date thereof.

AN ORDINANCE to approve a First Amendment to Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between the City of Omaha and the University of Nebraska, by and on behalf of its administrative unit, the University of Nebraska
Medical Center; to commit the City of Omaha to reimburse not more than $20 million in tax-exempt bonds for the costs of installation of public infrastructure improvements, up to $1.5 Million for the acquisition of right of way, and up to $45 million to support the design and construction of medical facilities, as limited to a proportionate share of the State of Nebraska’s allocation of funds, all associated with the proposed University of Nebraska Medical Center campus expansion project located in an area along Saddle Creek Road; to authorize the

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on June 4, 2024, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:
An ordinance to amend Section 23-177 of the Omaha Municipal Code by changing the title of the employment classification known as Fabrication Mechanic III to Machinist; to repeal Section 23-177 as heretofore existing.
An ordinance to amend Section 23-177 of the Omaha Municipal Code by changing the title of the employment classification known as Sign Painter to Sign Technician and changing the hourly pay range of the renamed classification from a range of $21.95 to $28.16 to a range of $21.95 to $30.42; to repeal Section 23-177 as heretofore existing.
An ordinance to approve an agreement with Springshare, LLC for a three (3)-year subscription of products and services (to include Patron Point; PatronSync; Recommends; and Verify), involving a unique or non-competitive purchase under Section 5.16 and involving appropriations of more than one (1) year in conformity with Section 5.17, both of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956; to provide for payment to Springshare, LLC for these products and services in an estimated amount of $76,578.00, covering the period from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2027.
An ordinance in accordance with Section 5.10 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended, to transfer $4,358,602 in unencumbered appropriations in the 2024 Budget of the City of Omaha from the Wage Adjustment account to the Fire Department; and to fix the effective date hereof to be immediately upon passage in accordance with Section 2.12 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended.
An ordinance to approve the acceptance of and authorize disbursement over more than one fiscal year from the Executive Office of the President, Office of National Drug Control Policy Grant Agreement #G24MW0008A in the amount of $536,458.00 with no match, during the project period extending from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025 to support initiatives designed to implement the Strategy proposed by the Executive Board of the Midwest HIDTA including the Greater Omaha Safe Streets Taskforce, Omaha ATF Illegal Firearms Taskforce, Omaha DEA Drug Task Force, Omaha Metro Drug Task Force, and Management and Coordination; to authorize payment from such grant funding and involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter.
An ordinance to amend Sections 18-21, 18-22; 18-24 and 18-25; to add new Article VII, Sections 18-61 - 18-62 of the Omaha Municipal Code; to amend the definitions of “nuisance weeds;” to help guide native, natural and/or pollinator gardens; to regulate private composting systems within the City.
