NOTICE TO PUBLIC
The City Council of the City of Omaha will have a Pre-Council Meeting at 10:30 A.M. in the Roskens Room, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, for the purpose of discussing the agenda items and briefing and discussion of public business; and a regular Council Meeting at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, in the Legislative Chambers of the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the City Clerk, but the Council shall have the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting when convened.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on November 24, 2020, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:
An ordinance levying a special tax and assessment on all lots and pieces of real estate within Sewer Improvement District (SD) 1579, in the City of Omaha, to cover the cost of constructing public sewers, serving an area between Mason Street and Marcy Street from South 31st Street to the west approximately 250 feet.
An ordinance vacating the east/west alley between South 5th Street and South 6th Street and between Woolworth Avenue and Pine Street, abutting Lots 1 through 8, Block 22 of Credit Foncier Addition, Douglas County, Nebraska; providing for the reversion or transfer of the same.
An ordinance to authorize the acceptance of the bid from Waste Connections of Nebraska, Inc., involving the payment of money from appropriations of more than one fiscal year in accordance with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended; for rubbish container service at various Omaha Police Department facilities in the annual bid amount of $16,764.00.
An ordinance to accept the bid of Sandry Fire Supply, LLC to provide fire hose for the Omaha Fire Department; the term of the agreement is for 36 months at a total cost of $46,836.75, with the option to extend the agreement for four additional years.
An ordinance to approve exercising both one (1) year options in an Agreement between the City of Omaha and Ameritas Life Insurance Company to provide administrative services for the City’s self-insured dental plan at a cost of $3.00 per month per covered employee that was originally approved by the City Council on November 21, 2017 by Ordinance No. 41321 with such funds to be paid from Fund No. 11111, Organization No. 118016.
An ordinance (1) to approve an agreement between the City of Omaha and YouTurn in the amount of $2,880.00; and (2) to authorize funding for such agreement from the City of Omaha’s FY 2019 Project Safe Neighborhoods Grant Award #2019-GP-BX-0056, awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA); to work directly with the District of Nebraska, Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Task Force and law enforcement agencies as the PSN community engagement partner; involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter; providing for payment from a specific account.
An ordinance to amend Section 10-187 to lower the financial limits for the selection of firms being awarded contracts for professional services in architecture, engineering, land surveying, and landscape architecture; to require the submission of additional supporting material to the City Council upon award of a contract; and to amend the language about the finance department’s reporting requirement concerning professional services contracts.
An ordinance supplementing and amending Ordinance No. 37507, which authorizes the City of Omaha to issue Sanitary Sewerage System Revenue Bonds for the purpose of providing funds for the improvements to the City’s sanitary sewerage system.
