ICYMI, those are five of the 370 words and phrases that Merriam-Webster added to its dictionary this month, the publisher announced Wednesday. Oh yeah, ICYMI, short for "in case you missed it," was also added.

LINCOLN — Nebraskans, if they vote this November to increase the minimum wage, would help families with children and narrow wage gaps, Raise the Wage Nebraska said this week.
The group shared an Economic Policy Institute analysis from 2019 indicating that increasing the minimum wage to $15 an hour would help 150,000 Nebraska workers.

Quiet quitting is a catchy name, popularized on social media, for something we’ve all probably done. Its popularity is probably down to the inevitable and much-needed pushback against “hustle culture”, where younger workers are encouraged to over-function and engage in unsustainable “performative productivity” – looking like you are working harder than you are – to get ahead in their careers. This comes at the expense of their wellbeing and capacity to engage meaningfully with their work.

LINCOLN — Nebraskans aren’t claiming their refunds from a major tax break passed by the State Legislature, and Gov. Pete Ricketts joined other state leaders on Thursday to urge Cornhuskers to get after it.
About 40% of all Nebraskans this year failed to claim the property tax refund that must be claimed on a state income tax form, leaving about $200 million of tax refunds unclaimed.
