Millions Of Dollars Raised For Giving Tuesday Through SHARE Omaha & SHARE Iowa

OMAHA — SHARE Omaha and SHARE Iowa had a record-breaking year by raising over $4.2 million on their websites for Giving Tuesday.

Local philanthropists created SHARE Omaha to help area nonprofits, primarily in Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy, Saunders or Washington Counties, fulfill their missions by recruiting donors to share money, material goods and time, according to a news release.

Voluntary Grant Program Aims To Restore Sandhills Grasslands, Wetlands

LINCOLN — A voluntary grant program will provide $4 million to landowners in the Sandhills region to remove invasive eastern red cedar trees and restore grasslands and wetlands, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission recently announced.

OMAHA — Soon to be rolling through the streets of the metro area: Buses wrapped in love and koi fish.

The winning entries for the “Wheel Appeal” student contest were announced Friday by Metro, the regional public transit system that covers the Omaha metro area.

‘Unexpected’ Help For Heating Costs Headed To Eligible Nebraskans
