For the past four years, inflation has rattled local small businesses across the country. The inflation rate peaked in 2022, but of course the cost of goods never went back down.
In fact, the prices just kept rising, just not at the same clip they had been rising at the peak.

Policymakers from South Korea, Japan and Italy, for example, have all adopted so-called “pronatalist” measures in the belief that doing so will defuse a demographic time bomb. These range from tax breaks and housing benefits for couples who have children to subsidies for fertility treatments.

Much has been said and written about Nebraska Legislative Bill 753, the Opportunity Scholarships Act, that passed with supermajority support in the spring of 2023. I’d like to present a perspective about the legislation based upon actual experience as the leader of an organization implementing the program in partnership with thousands of parents.

The French capital is buoyant with excitement and its local businesses filled with paying tourists from all over the world. Indeed, it’s difficult not to be tempted into booking a weekend getaway to see the spectacle up close.

Federal health officials are encouraging farm workers who tend livestock and poultry to get vaccinated for seasonal influenza to help prevent a bird flu mutation that might spark a pandemic in people.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday that it would devote up to $5 million to pay for the vaccinations and that it will rely on states to implement the initiative.
