Village of Boys Town, Nebraska

Ordinance No. 348

AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH A NEW ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE AND TO ASSIGN ADDITIONAL DUTIES TO A CURRENT VILLAGE EMPLOYEE; TO PROVIDE FOR SEVERABILITY; AND TO PROVIDE FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Be it Ordained by the Chairperson and Board of Trustees of the Village of Boys Town, Nebraska, as follows:

Section 1. Findings. The Chairperson and Board of Trustees of the Village of Boys Town find that in the interest of more effective and efficient management of the day-to-day administration of the Village of Boys Town, a person, in this case the Village Attorney, shall be tasked with additional administrative duties on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Boys Town. 

Specifically, the associated administrative duties shall include, but not be limited to providing legal counsel to the Board of Trustees of the Village of Boys Town and all its appointed officials including the Village Clerk, Village Engineer, Village Fire Chief, Village Police Chief, and Village Treasurer; overseeing the operations of the Village of Boys Town including  serving as the individual to whom the Village Fire Chief, Village Police Chief, and all other appointed officials administratively report; reviewing the budgets and spending of the Village of  Boys Town, in conjunction with the Village Treasurer; facilitating communication and collaboration between the Board of Trustees of the Village of Boys Town and the individual and corporate citizens of the Village of Boys Town; and overseeing any special public activities and projects taking place within the Village of Boys Town as requested by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Boys Town.

Section 2. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance is, for any reason, held to be invalid for any reason, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of any remaining portion of this ordinance.  The Chairperson and Board of Trustees of the Village of Boys Town, Nebraska hereby declare that the Village of Boys Town would have enacted and adopted this ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause and phrase hereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared invalid.

Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law, but not sooner than fifteen days after its passage.
