NOTICE

 

The City of Omaha Public Art Commission will have a regular monthly meeting at 4:00 p.m. on:

 

Wednesday, September 9th, 2026 

at the Dewey Recreation Center, 

550 Turner Boulevard,

Omaha, NE 68105.

 

Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the Parks, Recreation, and Public Property Department or on the Mayors website, https://mayors-office.cityofomaha.org/. The Board shall have the right to modify the agenda at said public meeting when convened.

Waiver of Sections 55-186 & 55-734 – Variance to the required front yard setback from 35’ to 25’, to the interior side yard setback from 5’ to 2.8’, and to the number of off-street parking stalls from 2 to 1 to allow for the construction of six single-family homes; NE of 24th & Fort Sts.

Waiver of Sections 55-837 & 55-824(d)(1) – Variance to the maximum signage budget from 109 sq. ft. to 160 sq. ft. and to allow a monument sign on a property with a building closer than 15’ to the property line in order to allow for a new monument sign for a multi-tenant retail building; 20603 Elkhorn Dr.

Waiver of Section 55-715 – Variance to the minimum street yard landscaping from 60% to 47.8% to allow for the construction of a parking lot to serve an existing church; 15801 Butler Ave.

Waiver of Section 55-186 – Variance to the minimum lot width from 50’ to 39.2’ and 46.5’ and to the minimum lot size from 5,000 sq. ft. to 4,708 sq. ft. to allow for a lot line adjustment between two properties; 2728 & 2732 Browne St.

Waiver of Sections 55-734 – Variance to the required number of parking stalls from 7 to 2 to allow an existing residential structure to be utilized as an office hub for an urban farm/community garden operation; 4002 Seward St.

Waiver of Section 55-126 – Variance to the required front yard setback from 50’ to 42’ to allow for the construction of a home and garage addition; 712 S. 210th Cir.

Waiver of Section 55-740(e) – Variance to the hard-surface driveway requirement to allow a gravel driveway to a new outbuilding; 18707 Northern Hills Dr.

Waiver of Section 55-715 – Variance to the minimum street yard landscaping depth from 15’ to 7’ to allow a parking lot expansion with non-conforming use; 3615 Woolworth Ave.

Waiver of Section 55-715 – Variance to the minimum street yard landscaping percentage from 70% to 43.5% to allow for a driveway expansion to access a garage addition with a request for Reasonable Accommodation; 9917 Essex Dr.

Waiver of Section 55-766(b)(3) – Variance to the separation requirement between a scrap or salvage use and the nearest property line of an agricultural, residential, or office zoning district from 300’ to 0’ to allow for a proposed concrete crushing operation; 10502 N. 111th St.

Waiver of Section 55-186 – Variance to the required rear yard setback from 25’ to 17.5’ to allow for the replacement of a backyard deck; 15714 Capitol Ave.

Waiver of Section 55-786(e) – Variance to the residential fence regulations to allow a 6’ tall, privacy fence within the street side yard setback; 1803 N. 48th St.

Waiver of Section 55-108 – Variance to the required interior side yard setback from 25’ to 15’ to allow for the construction of a home addition; 5666 S. 53rd St.
