OFFICIAL PROCEEDINS OF THE 

VALLEY CITY COUNCIL

 

Mayor Linda Lewis called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. on August 11, 2026. Present were Council Members J. Lewis, Dean, Socha, and Hayden. Also present: City Attorney Matt Munderloh, City Administrator Mike Gorman, Clerk Christie Donnermeyer, and Deputy Clerk Jon Barnhart. Mayor L. Lewis noted the location of the open meetings act and stated one copy of all reproducible written material to be discussed at this meeting is available for examination or copying. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The Proof of Publication was on the council desk. Marian Perkins, 400 W Megis would like to see continued maintenance in Rogert Park.  This matter will be brought to the attention of the Public Works Superintendent. Unanimously approved the agenda. Unanimously approve the consent agenda. Unanimously tabled the wastewater rate discussion for further review. Unanimously passed the $0.76 mileage reimbursement rate. Unanimously adopted Res No 2026-265 LARM property and casualty insurance renewal 2026-2027. Unanimously passed and adopted Ord No 854 pertaining to contracts, purchases, and bidding and other requirements. Unanimously adopted Res No 2026-31 adopting procurement policy. Unanimously adopted Res No 2026-32 ballot question on the November ballot to split sales tax. Approved Gibbs Land Development LLC (Falcon Business Park) preliminary plat. Approved Gibbs Land Development LLC (Falcon Business Park) final plat. Unanimously approved change order no 4 in the amount of $27061.40 from Eriksen Const for water treatment plant. Unanimously adopted Res No 2026-33 contractor’s app for payment no 19 in the amount of $784799.36 from Eriksen Const for water treatment plant. Unanimously adopted Res No 2026-34 contractor’s app for payment no 2 in the amount of $88,982.37 from Vrba Const for FY26 watermain replacement. Project updates were given by the City Engineer. Peopleservice gave a report on watermain breaks over the weekend and damage done to a fire hydrant by a semitruck driver trainee. Chief Kelly gave an update on the police department. Building Inspector Evans gave an update on the building department. City Administrator Gorman gave an update on the pool survey. Unanimously moved to adjourn at 8:28 p.m.  I certify that the above represents a factual account of the proceedings of the Valley City Council.
