*Financial Responsibilities & Pregnancy Expenses:

*Mother’s Medical Costs: Under Nebraska Statute 43-1407, the father is legally liable  for reasonable expenses related to the child’s  birth, as well as the mother’s pregnancy,  confinement, and recovery.

   *Enforcement: This obligation is determined 

and enforced by the court in the same manner 

as regular child support. Retroactive Support:  A court can order the father to pay retroactive 

support and a portion of past medical expenses.

*In many cases, this can be back-dated for 

a set period, such as up to four years prior.

*If the unknown father wishes to object to  adoption, and seek legal council as well as file  a formal objection within a specific statutory  window.
