VACANCY NOTICE

WARD 1

Notice is hereby given of the vacancy in the elected office of the City of Bennington City Council Ward 1. The length of the term of said office expires December 11, 2028 and the qualifications required to be appointed to such office include United States citizenship, residency in the City of Bennington and appropriate Ward 1, and being a registered voter. A map of the City of Bennington City Council Wards is published herewith. Qualified applicants should submit a letter of interest and qualifications to the City Office at P.O. Box 221 no later than Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. The City of Bennington Mayor shall submit the name of a qualified applicant to fill the vacancy to the City Council at the regular City Council meeting on January 13, 2025, and if approved by a majority vote of the Council, the vacancy shall be filled and the nominee shall at that time be sworn into office.
