MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2024 5:00 PM

Posting Information: Notice published in the Daily Record on 09/20/2024. Notice of meeting posted on the District website. Agendas posted at all Bennington Public School buildings three days prior to the meeting date.

 

Attendance Taken at 5:00 P.M. Jeremy Dick: Present, Tim Dreessen: Absent, Kara Neuverth: Present, Kristi Ryan: Absent, Steve Shannon: Present, Allyson Slobotski: Present.

 

I.       Call Meeting to Order- President Allyson Slobotski called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m., noting the meeting is governed by the Open Meetings Act. The Board of Education makes available at least one current copy of the Open Meetings Act posted in the meeting room at a location accessible to members of the public.

III.A.     Discuss, Consider, and Take All Necessary Action to Adopt the 2024-25 School Year Budget- The NDE budget was considered for approval.

 

MOTION PASSED: Motion to approve the 2024-25 NDE budget as presented, passed with a motion made by Steve Shannon and seconded by Kara Neuverth. Jeremy Dick: Yea, Kara Neuverth: Yea, Steve Shannon: Yea, Allyson Slobotski: Yea

 

III.B.     Discuss, Consider, And Take All Necessary Action to Approve the Property Tax Request Resolution and Set the School System’s Final Property Tax Request for the 2024-25 School Year- The BOE was presented with the property tax request resolution for approval per state statute. The BOE was presented with the final tax request for the 2024-25 school year for approval.

 

MOTION PASSED: Motion to adopt the property tax request resolution for Bennington Public Schools for 2024-25 and set the 2024-2025 property tax requests as follows: $27,817,927 for the General Fund, $509,901 for the Special Building Fund; $10,141,363 for the Bond Fund; and $0 for the Qualified Capital Purpose Undertaking Fund, passed with a motion made by Allyson Slobotski and seconded by Jeremy Dick. IV.    Next Regular Meeting- October 14th – Regular Board Meeting at 6:00 PM – Bennington District Office

 

V.      Adjourn- The meeting was adjourned at 5:09 P.M. with a motion by Allyson Slobotski and a second by Jeremy Dick. All in Favor.

 

The Board offered the public the opportunity to speak. No members of the Public were present to speak. The meeting adjourned at 5:10 P.M. with a motion by Allyson Slobotski.
