Notice of School Board Vacancy and Application Process
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Education of Westside Community Schools, School District No. 66, Douglas County, in the State of Nebraska, has a school board member vacancy effective May 15, 2023, due to the death of board member Doug Krenzer. The term of this board seat will expire on May 31, 2024. If you are interested in filling this unpaid, volunteer vacancy through a Board appointment process, please submit an application beginning June 13, 2023. The application is available on the district website at westside66.net, or by contacting the district office at 402-390-2105. Applications are due by 4:00 p.m. on June 20, 2023. A Board Meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 26, 2023, at the District Office (909 S. 76th St.) to announce all candidates who have timely submitted applications by the June 20 deadline and to narrow the list of finalists to be interviewed. Finalist interviews will be held on June 28, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the District Office and - if necessary - on June 29, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the District Office. To be eligible for this appointment, you must be a registered voter and reside in School District 66. (Neb. Rev. Stat. § 79-543).

Prospective Bidders may obtain or examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
A paper set of Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Engineer upon pre-payment by cash, check, or using prepaid account with Engineer of $50.00 if picked up and $60.00 if mailed (both non-refundable). Contractor must give 24-hour notice to Engineer when picking up paper sets. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from other sources.
Bid Security
The Bid Security shall be in a separate sealed envelope attached to the Proposal envelope and shall be marked “BID SECURITY FOR ACCESS DRIVE IMPROVEMENTS” with the bidder’s name and address on said envelope. Each Bid shall be accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check or Bid Bond (on the form included with the
Bidding Documents) in the amount of FIVE PERCENT (5%) OF BASE BID AMOUNT and shall be payable without condition to WESTSIDE PUBLIC SCHOOLS as a guarantee that the Bidder, if successful, will execute the Agreement and provide an acceptable Contract Bond from an approved surety in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price.
Payment Procedures
The Owner will issue payment to the Contractor in the amount of 90% of the contracted value of the completed work as of the end of the preceding month, as recommended by the Engineer. Payment for the balanced retained will be issued by the Owner upon completion of the work and approval thereof by the Owner’s Engineer, city or other governmental agency approval when necessary, and acceptance by the Owner.
