Outlook’s Enrichment’s largest fundraiser of the year — Vision Beyond Sight — moves outdoors for the first time ever for a night of Blues, Booze & BBQ on Saturday, Sept. 10, at the SumTur Amphitheater. The event’s proceeds will support Outlook Enrichment’s programs, which empower people living with vision loss with the skills and tools to achieve their goals.
Attendees are invited to feast on sweet, sassy and spicy barbeque from local food truck vendors and engage in Outlook Enrichment’s recreation activities through the lens of its participants. Adaptive sports specialists will assist participants to try their hand at golf, bocce ball, archery, cornhole and basketball. It will be an evening of recreation in action!
Hosted at the SumTur Amphitheater in Papillion, Vision Beyond Sight will feature live music from Dustin Arbuckle & The Damnations, featuring one of Outlook’s very own talented teen musicians.
“Anytime you can partner up with an organization like Outlook Enrichment for a good cause, you jump at that opportunity,” said Arbuckle, a singer and harmonica player who’s been touring for 15 years and who’s performed in Omaha several times. “We’re fortunate to be in a position where we can help people better their quality of life – and help Outlook Enrichment continue its great work. We’re excited about the show!”
“The Vision Beyond Sight fundraiser serves as an opportunity to celebrate the community’s efforts to help the blind and visually impaired achieve greater independence and enjoy life-enriching experiences,” said Paulette Monthei, executive director of Outlook Enrichment. “The event also will recognize Outlook Enrichment’s volunteer of the year award winner and award winners and nominees from its sister entity, Outlook Nebraska.”
Attendees can dance all night to the beat of the blues. So, bring a lawn chair or blanket and sit in the grass or settle into the venue’s stadium seats to enjoy an evening of music and learn more about Outlook Enrichment, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people with vision loss find the resources they need.
Vision Beyond Sight: Blues, Booze & BBQ for the Blind will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10, 5-9 p.m. at the SumTur Amphitheatre, 11691 S 108 St., Papillion, NE, 68046.
