NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on November 4, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:
An ordinance approving a redevelopment and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Redevelopment Agreement between the City of Omaha and TH McLeay Holdings, LLC, to implement the Little Bo Historic Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Redevelopment Project Plan for a redevelopment project site located northwest of 13th and William Streets, which proposes the rehabilitation of four historic buildings that are in close proximity to each other, to include a 1,300 square foot addition to the building at 1270 South 13th Street. There will be a total of approximately 24,741 square feet of commercial uses and a total of five market rate apartment units; the agreement authorizes the use of up to $868,950.00, which includes capitalized interest, in excess ad valorem taxes (TIF) generated by the development to help fund the cost of the project.
An ordinance approving a redevelopment and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Redevelopment Agreement between the City of Omaha and TH McLeay Holdings, LLC, to implement the Little Bo Village Mixed Use Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Redevelopment Project Plan for a redevelopment project site located north of 14th and William Street, and northeast of 12th and William Streets which proposes the redevelopment of five sites in close proximity of each other, including three vacant sites and two sites with small structures that will be rehabilitated. In total, there will be 155 new market rate apartment units and approximately 9,250 square feet of commercial space; the agreement authorizes the use of up to $7,323,090.00, which includes capitalized interest, in excess ad valorem taxes (TIF) generated by the development to help fund the cost of the project.
An ordinance to approve a Grant Agreement by and between the City of Omaha, and Project Harmony which provides a grant in the amount of $400,000.00 over a period of five years to fund a Crime Analyst to assist in Project Harmony’s Anti-Trafficking Initiative which focuses on youth trafficking; to reimburse the City of Omaha the amount of $20,000 each quarter.
An ordinance to accept the bid from Great Plains Realty Auction Company, involving payment from the City of Omaha from appropriations of more than one year in accordance with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended, to provide for auctioneering services for the Omaha Police Department Impound Facility extended over a period of three (3) years in accordance with the bid specifications.
An ordinance (1) to approve an agreement between the City of Omaha and the Women’s Center for Advancement in the amount of $52,000.00; and (2) to authorize funding for such agreement from the City of Omaha’s FY 2024 STOP Violence Against Women (VAWA) Grant, Award #15JOVW-23-GG-00588-STOP Sub-Grant #197-2024-VW4016 Year Three (3) awarded by the Nebraska Crime Commission; to provide partial funding for one (1) full-time Client Attorney, one (1) full-time Victim Advocate, one (1) full-time Education Victim Advocate, and Indirect Costs as part of the Douglas County Community Response Team; involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter.
An ordinance to amend Sections 54-171, 54-172, 54-173, 54-174, 54-175, 54-176, 54-177, 54-178, and 54-179 of the Omaha Municipal Code to help ensure that private, residential pools meet updated safety standards, to provide guidelines for instances of noncompliance with these safety standards.
An ordinance to amend Sections 6-263, 6-263.1, 6-263.2, 6-263.3, 6-263.4, 6-263.5, 6-266, 6-270, 6-272, 6-273, 6-274, and 6-275 of the Omaha Municipal Code to help ensure that the most up-to-date regulations concerning wildlife are codified, that the Douglas County Health Department has the necessary authority to promulgate rules and regulations for chickens and other fowl in order to protect and promote the public health and safety.
