PUBLIC NOTICE

The Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA) is amending its 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) to update funding programmed for several local and state road construction and trail projects.  The amendment also consolidates several state and local projects into lists to be more consistent with MAPA’s Transportation Improvement Program. The public comment period for the amendment runs August 26, 2021 through September 22, 2021.

The LRTP amendment is needed due to increased cost estimates for the following projects:

• Nebraska Department of Transportation – North Freeway, Parker to Fort St.

• Nebraska Department of Transportation – I-680/US 6 Bridges

• City of Omaha – 168th Street – West Center Road to Q Street

• City of Bellevue – 36th Street – Phase II

• City of Gretna – Gretna to Wehrspann Trail

• Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District – US Highway34 Bike & Walking Trail – Phase 2

The public comment period will include an open house public meeting.
