Notice is hereby given that the OMAHA CITY CLERK will receive sealed bids until WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, 2020 AT 11:00 A.M. FOR DOUGLAS CO. PROJECT NO. C-28(584)B 2020 ARMOR COAT AND FOG SEAL 15.0 MILES OF COUNTY ROADS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS.

Bids are to be submitted on the proposal forms and in accordance with plans and specifications available at www.questcdn.com. You may download the digital plan documents for $15.00 by inputting QuestCDN Project #6827971 on the website’s Project search page.  Please contact QuestCDN.com at (952) 233-1632 or info@questcdn.com for assistance in free membership registration, downloading, and working with this digital project information.  Alternatively, paper copies of the plans and specifications are available at the office of the Douglas County Engineer, 15505 West Maple Road, Omaha, Nebraska.  The cost of the paper plans and specifications is $30.00 plus $2.10 tax, and is non-refundable.  Checks for the paper plans and specifications should be made payable to the Douglas County Engineer.

As evidence of good faith in submitting a proposal for this work, the bidder must file with his proposal, cash, certified check or bid bond, made payable to Douglas County in the sum of 5% of his bid, all of which shall be placed in a sealed envelope so marked as to indicate its contents without being opened.  This envelope is to be placed in another envelope, which shall be sealed and addressed to the County Clerk.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Surety Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract.

The Board of Douglas County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

Bids will publicly be opened and read aloud in the City/County Legislative Chambers of the Omaha Douglas Civic Center on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.

There will be a non-mandatory, pre-bid meeting on Friday, MARCH 13, 2020, at 2 pm.  The meeting will be held at the clubhouse for the Benson Golf Course, 5333 N. 72nd Street.  Meeting will be held rain or shine.

This project has been identified to have 100% SB/SEB contractor participation.  Refer to Sections 00220 and 00221 for additional information.

General Contractor shall self-perform with its own workforce a minimum of thirty percent (30%) of the total cost of the Contract.  Purchasing of materials does not qualify as self-performing the Work.

As evidence of good faith and guarantee that contract will be entered into should award be made thereon, a bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany bid.  The bid bond or certified check shall be made payable to the “City of Omaha”.  Failure to do so will be cause for rejection.  City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in whole or in part, and the bidders shall have the right to appeal any decision to the City Council.
