Notice is hereby given that the City of Omaha Fireworks Committee will meet on December 22, 2020 at 10:45 AM on the Legislative Chambers floor of the Omaha/Douglas County Building, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, NE 68183. Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the City Clerk, but the Council shall have the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting when convened.

The City Council of the City of Omaha will have a Pre-Council Meeting at 10:30 A.M. in the Roskens Room, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, for the purpose of discussing the agenda items and briefing and discussion of public business; and a regular Council Meeting at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, in the Legislative Chambers of the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center in Omaha, Nebraska. This meeting will have video conference capability. Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the City Clerk, but the Council shall have the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting when convened. PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on December 22, 2020, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:
An ordinance to amend Section 23-177 of the Omaha Municipal Code concerning employment classifications by adding the employment classification entitled Street Maintenance Manager with a salary range of 26.2 MC ($92,893 to $116,771); to repeal Section 23-177 as heretofore existing.
An ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 42269 previously passed by City Council on July 23, 2020 approving the Service Agreement between the City of Omaha, Nebraska, on behalf of the Omaha Police Department (OPD), and Idemia Identity and Security USA, LLC (IDEMIA), to lease an IDEMIA Ruggedized LiveScan Station for digital fingerprinting, for a term of five years with the option to renew for another five years, and can be done so administratively; that in consideration, the City shall pay IDEMIA $13,028.00 over the five-year period; such five-year period is amended from Year 2020 through Year 2024 to, payment will be made by the Nebraska State Patrol for Year 2021, and payments in the amount of $3,257.00 will be made by OPD for Year 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.

ORDINANCE
“Pursuant to Chapter 34, Article VI, Division 3 of the Omaha Municipal Code, you are hereby notified that:
It shall be the duty of the occupant, as well as the duty of the owner, of any lot or land or real estate in the city to clear all ice and snow from the sidewalks adjoining the said lot, land or real estate within 24 hours after the city has declared that snow removal operation on the city’s major streets are complete. The failure or refusal of any owner or occupant to fulfill this duty and to clear all ice and snow and other obstructions from the sidewalks has been declared unlawful and may be punishable pursuant to Omaha Municipal Code Sec. 1-10. It is also unlawful for any person to place snow or ice upon any street or alley right-of-way from private driveways, sidewalks, lots, or other private property.
Pursuant to Omaha Municipal Code Sec. 34-335 the City of Omaha has the authority to clear the sidewalks of the hazard created by snow and ice. The expense the City incurs for removing snow and ice accumulations upon sidewalks may be assessed against the adjoining property, at the following rates:
Amount of Snow in inches Cost per Lineal (running) Foot of Sidewalk to remove*
Trace (or ice) to 6-inches $3.13 per Lineal Foot (includes 15% administrative fee)
6-inches to 12 inches $4.03 per Lineal Foot (includes 15% administrative fee)
12-inches or greater $5.75 per Lineal Foot (includes 15% administrative fee)
*Based on a maximum standard residential sidewalk width of 5 foot. If sidewalk is greater than 5 foot wide a multiplier will be added.
Additionally, if it has been determined that a property has been in violation of Chapter 34, Article VI, Division 3 within a previous 36 month period, an additional penalty of $150.00 will be assessed for a second violation and $300.00 will be assessed for a third and each subsequent violation. The City of Omaha Public Works Department thanks the City for their cooperation in clearing the sidewalks.”
