Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Omaha met on July 13, 2021 and passed and approved the following ordinances:
ORDINANCE NO. 42583
AN ORDINANCE to amend the official zoning map of the City of Omaha adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code, by changing certain boundaries of the official zoning map of the City of Omaha in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, to rezone property located at 561 South 84th Street from R1-Single-Family Residential District (Low Density) to R2-Single-Family Residential District (Low Density).
Summary: The official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code so that: The west 172 feet of Lot 5, except the south 10 feet and the west 2 feet, and the west 172 feet and south 14 feet of Lot 6, Block 3, Ridgewood Addition, a subdivision surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska, is hereby rezoned from R1-Single-Family Residential District (Low Density) to R2-Single-Family Residential District (Low Density).

AN ORDINANCE to amend the official zoning map of the City of Omaha adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code, by changing certain boundaries of the official zoning map of the City of Omaha in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, to rezone property located at 9207 Biondo Street from R2-Single-Family Residential District (Low-Density) to R5-Urban Family Residential District.
Summary: The official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code so that: Lot 1, Orchard Heights 2nd Addition, a Subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska, is hereby rezoned from R2-Single-Family Residential District (Low-Density) to R5-Urban Family Residential District.

ORDINANCE NO. 42585
AN ORDINANCE to amend the boundaries of the MCC-Major Commercial Corridor Overlay District, to incorporate into that district the property located at 9207 Biondo Street; and to provide for an effective date.
Summary: In accordance with Sections 55-681 through 55-688 and 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, the official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended so that: Lot 1, Orchard Heights 2nd Addition, a Subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska is hereby rezoned to be included in and incorporated into the MCC-Major Commercial Corridor Overlay District; provided, that the base zoning district for such property shall not be changed by this ordinance.

AN ORDINANCE to approve an Amendment to the Future Land Use Element of the Master Plan for the City of Omaha, to change the future land use map from Open Space to Low Density Residential for property located at 3030 and 3031 Upland Parkway; and to provide for an effective date hereof.
Summary: Section 7 .05 of the Charter of the City of Omaha allows for the City Council to adopt amendments to the City’s Master Plan as deemed necessary and appropriate upon recommendation by the Planning Board.

A SPECIAL ORDINANCE levying a special tax and assessment on all lots and pieces of real estate within Street Improvement District (SID) 6884, in the City of Omaha, to cover the cost of constructing and improving Nicholas Street, from North 87th Street west to its terminus, in Portland cement concrete, and to provide an effective date hereof.

AN ORDINANCE (1) to approve an agreement between the City of Omaha and Nebraska Preparedness Partnership in the amount of eighty-nine thousand five hundred dollars ($89,500) and (2) to authorize funding for such agreement from the FY 2020 State Homeland Security Grant (SHSG) Award #EMW-2020-SS-00099-S01, awarded by the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency, to provide enhanced security of critical infrastructure assets as prioritized by critical infrastructure operators through public--private partnerships, coordinated plan implementation, and resource management; to authorize payment from such grant funding and involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter; and, providing for the effective date hereof.

Summary: That the corporate limits of the City of Omaha be extended over and that there be included therein the following described lands in Douglas County, Nebraska, which presently adjoins the City Limits of the City of Omaha, as it now exists: Beginning at a point on the existing City Limit Line of the City of Omaha as established by Ordinance Number 37808 passed July 31, 2007 said point being 821.33 feet North of the Southeast Comer of the NW ¼ of Section 9, Township 15 North, Range 11 East of the 6th P.M. Douglas County, Nebraska, said point also being the Southeast Comer of Outlot “B” Whispering Ridge West, as surveyed platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska; thence on the City Limits Line of the City of Omaha for the following 2 courses, (1) thence S53°54’37”W (Basis of bearings being said plat of Whispering Ridge West) a distance of 961.31 feet; (2) thence S87°59’05”W, a distance of 249.15 feet; thence N02°56’33”E, a distance of 2201.59 feet to a point on the existing City Limit Line of the City of Omaha as established by Ordinance Number 37808 passed July 31, 2007 and the Southerly Right-of-Way Line of West Maple Road; thence on said existing City Limit Line for the following 3 courses (1) thence Easterly on said South Right-of-Way Line to its intersection with the West Right-of-Way Line of North HWS Cleveland Boulevard; (2) thence South on said West Right-of-Way Line to its intersection with the East Line of the NW ¼ of Section 9, Township 15 North, Range 11 East of the 6th P.M.
