CITY/COUNTY NOTICE OF BIDS 12/1/21

CITY OF OMAHA

INVITATION TO BID

Sealed bids for the renovation/construction of the City of Omaha West Papio Trail Relocation are invited and will be received on or before the bid opening date, as per the project’s specifications.

Sealed bids to be addressed to Elizabeth Butler, City Clerk, LC-1, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, marked BID ON: “City of Omaha West Papio Trail Relocation”, must be in her office on or before 11:00 A.M. on: Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at which time the bids will be opened and read by the City Clerk before the Bid Opening Committee and the public in LC-4, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center.

Plans and Specifications may be examined and obtained at the offices of the following printers:   A&D Technical Supply Co., Inc., 4320 South 89th Street, Omaha, NE 68127 (402-592-4950), and Standard Digital Imaging, 4426 South 108th Street, Omaha, NE 68137 (800-642-8062) on or after Wednesday, December  1, 2021.  Bidders may view the contract documents (plans & specifications, etc.) on the project free of charge from their websites.  Electronic or hard copy prints of all contract documents may be obtained from any one of them by contacting them directly and placing an order.  All costs for contract document production will be directly billed by the printer to the requesting company and not to the issuer of this bidding opportunity.  Potential bidders may receive special pricing for the printing of hard copies of the contract documents.  Contact the printer for the cost associated with your request.

There is no non-mandatory, pre-bid meeting for this project.

General Contractor shall self-perform with its own workforce a minimum of thirty percent (30%) of the total cost of the Contract.  Purchasing of materials does not qualify as self-performing the Work.

This project has an SEB reserve for ESB and SB Tier 1 & 2 categories for 5% of the total bid amount.  For additional information see Specification Section 00 20 00, ‘Instructions to Bidders”, Part 2.16, “Utilization of Small and Emerging Small Business”.

This project does not require the bidder to submit an Economic Equity and Inclusion Program (EEIP) Plan or an approved EEIP Certificate with their bid.

As evidence of good faith and guarantee that contract will be entered into should award be made thereon, a bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany bid.  The bid bond or certified check shall be made payable to the “City of Omaha”.  Failure to do so will be cause for rejection.  City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in whole or in part, and the bidders shall have the right to appeal any decision to the City Council.

Notification of Project Meeting:

Request for Information

The City of Omaha would like to notify its intent to invite contractor involvement in project review discussions for the upcoming OPW 52470 Forest Lawn Creek Inflow Removal and Outfall Storm Sewer Project. The project is bounded on the north by State Street, on the east by Pershing Drive, on the south by Ernst Street, and on the west by North 36th Street.

The OPW 52470 Forest Lawn Creek Inflow Removal and Outfall Storm Sewer Project includes the construction of approximately 12,900 LF of storm sewer pipe ranging in size from 12-inch to 10-foot by 7-foot concrete box culvert, 140 storm inlets, 54 storm sewer manholes, and 5 cast in place junction boxes. The project includes the construction of approximately 7,500 LF of sanitary sewer pipe ranging from 8-inch to 36-inch in size and 44 sanitary sewer manholes. The project includes full-width street replacement for much of the project area including the construction of approximately 38,600 SY of 7-inch concrete pavement, 2,700 SY of 11-inch concrete pavement, 36,800 SF of 4-inch concrete sidewalk, 7,200 SF of 6-inch concrete sidewalk, 2,900 SY of 7-inch concrete driveway pavement, and 900 SY of 10-inch concrete driveway pavement. The project includes the construction of a new storm sewer outfall and energy dissipation structure that requires an open cut crossing of an existing railroad spur line. Disturbed landscape areas will be fully restored with seeding, rolled erosion control, sodding and soil restoration.

The project also includes trenchless installation of approximately 1,300 LF of 96-inch storm sewer pipe, approximately 70 LF of 24-inch sanitary sewer pipe, and approximately 70 LF of 12-inch sanitary sewer pipe.

General contractors are invited to schedule an informational project overview meeting with the City’s project team during the week of December 6th to December 10th.
