NOTICE OF BOND ELECTION
DOUGLAS COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 0001
IN THE STATE OF NEBRASKA
(OMAHA PUBLIC SCHOOLS)
 
     PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the qualified electors of the Omaha Public Schools (Douglas County School District 0001, in the State of Nebraska) that at an election to be held in conjunction with the statewide primary election in the District on May 15, 2018, there will be submitted to the qualified electors of said School District the following proposition:
 
     “Shall the Omaha Public Schools (Douglas County School District 0001, in the State of Nebraska) issue bonds in one or more series in the aggregate principal amount not exceeding $409,900,000 for the purpose of paying costs of the following projects:
 

• Building two high schools, one middle school and two elementary schools and furnishing and equipping the same;

• Construction of capital improvements, additions, renovations, relocations and replacements of existing school buildings and furnishing and equipping the same;

• Providing for air quality, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, life safety and energy improvements and upgrades for existing school buildings; and

• Other capital projects, land acquisition, and furnishings and equipment relating to new and existing school buildings;

 
with such bonds to be issued from time to time and to become due and bear interest as shall be determined by the Board of Education; and
 
     “Shall such School District cause to be levied and collected annually taxes upon the taxable property within the District sufficient to pay the interest and principal of the bonds authorized by this proposition?”

                   Ö      NO, against said proposition
 
Qualified electors voting in favor of the proposition shall blacken completely the oval opposite the words “YES, for said proposition” following said proposition; and qualified electors voting against said proposition shall blacken completely the oval opposite the words “NO, against said proposition” following said proposition.
 
 The polling places for said election shall be open at 8:00 o’clock a.m. on the day of such primary election and will continue open until 8:00 o’clock p.m. on the same day.  Qualified electors of said School District will vote at the designated polling places, as set by the Election Commissioner of Douglas County (with the assistance of the Election Commissioner of Sarpy County) for such primary election.  All of such polling places are accessible to individuals with physical mobility limitations.  Ballots for early voting may be obtained for Sarpy County residents by application to the Election Commissioner of Sarpy County, at 501 Olson Drive, Papillion, Nebraska 68046, and ballots for early voting may be obtained for Douglas County residents by application to the Election Commissioner of Douglas County, at 225 North 115^th Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68154, as provided by law.
