PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

MILLWORKK PARCEL 8 APARTMENTS

REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT PLAN

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will meet and hold a public hearing on June 23, 2020, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183 for the purpose of hearing testimony for:

 

The Millwork Parcel 8 Apartments Redevelopment Project Plan.

 

The redevelopment project plan proposes an infill redevelopment with a five story mixed-use building containing residential, retail and office space. There will be 171 studio, one and two bedroom apartment units on the four upper floors. The first floor will have approximately 11,000 square feet of retail and office space and will include both amenity spaces for the apartment residents and some interior parking stalls.

 

The Planning Board recommended approval of this Redevelopment Project Plan at the May 6, 2020 public hearing.

 

The Redevelopment Project Plan authorizes the City’s participation in the redevelopment of this project site through the allocation of TIF in an amount up to $3,425,000.00, plus accrued interest. TIF will be used to offset eligible expenses such as acquisition, site preparation costs, architectural and engineering fees, and other public improvements as required. The total estimated project costs are $30,543,798.00, but are subject to change as final costs come in.

 

A copy of said plan is available for public inspection in the City Clerk’s Office.

REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT PLAN

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will meet and hold a public hearing on June 23, 2020, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183 for the purpose of hearing testimony for:

 

The Meridian at 72nd and West Center Redevelopment Project Plan.

 

The redevelopment project plan proposes the demolition of a vacant hotel and lounge and the new construction of a 277 unit market-rate apartment complex with a mix of studio, one and two bedroom units. The developer will install a bicycle and pedestrian connection to the adjoining neighborhood.

 

The Planning Board recommended approval of this Redevelopment Project Plan at the May 6, 2020 public hearing.

 

The Redevelopment Project Plan authorizes the City’s participation in the redevelopment of this project site through the allocation of TIF in an amount up to $5,876,535.00, plus accrued interest. TIF will be used to offset eligible expenses such as acquisition, site work, engineered foundations, architectural and engineering fees, and other public improvements as required. The total estimated project costs are $46,935,374.00, but are subject to change as final costs come in.

 

A copy of said plan is available for public inspection in the City Clerk’s Office.
