Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the 12th day of October 2021 in the Westside Community School District, Douglas County, Nebraska, a special election will be held. The election will be by mail; therefore, no polling places will be open for voting. Said election will be held for the registered voters of Douglas County who reside within the Westside Community School District who will approve or reject the following proposition:

PROPOSITION

Shall Westside Community Schools, School District No. 66 of Douglas County, Nebraska, be allowed to levy a property tax not to exceed 15 cents per one hundred dollars of taxable valuation in excess of the limits prescribed by law for a period of five years beginning with the 2023-2024 fiscal year and going through the 2027-2028 fiscal year for the purposes of general operations?

By-Mail Election

This election will be an election by mail. All registered voters currently residing within the Westside Community School District will receive their ballot by mail, and therefore, no polling places will be open for voting. Ballots will be mailed by the Douglas County Election Commission between Monday, September 20 and Friday, October 1, 2021.

Voter Registration Deadlines

• The deadline to register to vote online, at an agency, with a deputy registrar, or by mail is Friday, September 24, 2021.

• The deadline for in-person registration at the election office is Friday, October 1, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.

Ballot Return Deadline

• All voted ballots must be received by the Douglas County Election Commission no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

• Voted ballots must be delivered or mailed to the Douglas County Election Commission at 12220 W Center Road, Omaha, Nebraska 68144 or placed in a Douglas County Election Commission official ballot drop box. Drop box locations available for this election are as follows:

• Ralston Police Department: 7400 Main Street, Ralston

• Asian Market: 321 N 76th Street

• Douglas County Election Commission: 12220 W Center Road
