Pursuant to Section 19-1102 of the Nebraska State Statutes, I hereby publish the wages of the employees of the Village of Waterloo, Nebraska: Village Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer 36.17 hour; Deputy Clerk 24.30 hour; Maintenance Supervisor 32.48 hour; Maintenance Employees 20, 24.26 hour; Library Director 25.99 hour; Library Employee 20.84, 16 hour; Police Chief 45.07 hour; Police Sergeant 40.95 hour; Part-time Police Officers 25 hour and Full-time Police Officer 33.60 hour; Fire Department Employees 25, 26.25 hour.

REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS

June 9, 2025

 

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Waterloo met for a Regular Meeting on June 9, 2025 at 7:00 pm in the Village Office, 509 S. Front Street. Present were Chairperson Travis Harlow and Trustees Rotert, Sass and Ewing. Trustee Rochford was absent. Attorney Solomon and Clerk Smith were also present.

Chairperson Harlow called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm and stated the location of the Open Meetings Act. Notice of the meeting was duly exercised and mailed per the bylaws.

Minutes from the May 12, 2025 Special Meeting and May 12, 2025 Regular Meeting and the May Treasurer Report were approved as presented.

The following motions were approved:

 

-    To approve Resolution 06-09-25-01, to approve bid for remove tree pile from Clean up day by Out on a Limb in the amount of $1,100.00

-    To table Resolution 06-09-25-02, to approve new estimate for mowing the levee by Royal Lawns at a cost of $2,400 per mow

-    To approve Resolution 06-09-25-03, to approve bid for flowers on main street by Viaduct Gardens at a total cost of $1,258.00

-    To approve Resolution 06-09-25-04, to approve bid from Luke’s Lawn and Pest for seeding in Memorial Park in the amount of $1,350.00

-    To approve Resolution 06-09-25-05, to approve SDL for 8/22/25. Ewing abstained.

-    To approve Resolution 06-09-25-06, to approve SDL for 8/23/25. Ewing abstained.

-    To approve Resolution 06-09-25-07, to approve proposal from TextMyGov for mass messaging

-    To approve Resolution 06-09-25-08, to approve SDL for Venue 779. Harlow abstained.

-    To approve a 10% increase in water rates to match the increase from MUD

-    To table Ordinance 852, to amend firework stand regulations to remove the deposit requirement for non-profit stands

-    To approve firework stand for Kracklin’ Kirks at 301 S Front St

-    To approve Change Order #3 for Omni Engineering with a net change of $7,740.56 for work completed on the seal coat project

-    To approve Pay Application #3 to Omni Engineering for the seal coat and speed tables at an amount of $52,690.05

-    To approve Change Order #4 for Pavers, Inc. with a net change of $23,955.34 for work competed on overlay project and Avenue A

-    To approve Pay Application #4 to Pavers, Inc. for the overlay and Avenue A project at an amount of $132,022.33

-    To approve holding the July meeting on the 7th at 7:00 pm

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:25 pm. The next regular meeting is scheduled for July 7, 2025 at 7:00 pm.

OF ORDINANCE NO. 851

Public Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Waterloo, Nebraska, held at 7:00 o’clock P.M. on July 7, 2025, there was passed and adopted Ordinance No. 851 entitled:

 

AN ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE MONTHLY METER CHARGES AND MONTHLY WATER RATES FOR THE USE OF THE WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM AND THE PURCHASE OF WATER FROM THE VILLAGE OF WATERLOO, NEBRASKA, ON A JUST AND EQUITABLE BASIS; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECT DATE OF THIS AMENDMENT.

 

Which Ordinance No. 851 is published in pamphlet form, copies of which are available for inspection and distribution at the Office of the Village Clerk at the Village Clerk’s Office in the Village of Waterloo, Nebraska.
